PACIFIC CREST TRAIL #7

Hiking the trail I looked up at the ridge and was struck by this scene. Grazing the edge of the cliff, the Tamarack trees were backlit in a way I'd not seen before. It was mid-afternoon! Small white pieces of something were floating in the air around the trees. I remain mystified as to what they were.
